Transformer innovators since 1945

RS Isolsec

From Constructions Electriques RS to RS ISOLSEC group...

Back in 1954 an electrical engineer named René Soumoy, created a company named "Constructions Electriques RS".
First RS instrument transformers were designed at that time, with EDF and ALSTOM as main customers.

Originally based in Gentilly (near Paris, France), then in Sainte Ménéhould (Eastern part of France), this family business grew with every year better performing instrument transformers reaching market. Vacuum casting techniques for resin insulating envelopes were developed in these times.

Relocation
In 1973 the company is transferred to Cepoy near Montargis (center part of France) to gather the activities of encapsulated instrument transformers and cast resin instrument transformers.

1995 sees the beginning of exports for the RS ISOLSEC products line, which nowadays represents the main final destination of our measure and protection instrument transformers.

Growth
In 2005 the instrument transformer business of ALSTOM - AREVA designed for the equipment of Hi Voltage substations joins RS ISOLSEC. In that same year, the instrument transformer business of Schlumberger - Actaris - also joins the RS ISOLSEC group.

RS Isolsec and Wesemann joint forces in 2011 and work together to increase the market share for both partners in the Netherlands.
